Acts as a diuretic , urinary antiseptic, and appetite stimulant. Inhibits production of dihydrotosterone  , a form of testosterone, that contributes  to enlargement of the prostate. Shown to improve lower urinary tract symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia. May also enhance sexual functioning and sexual desire.
